Entrance Signage

In 2016 and in 2018 the QEDC funded two  welcome monument signs; First one is locatedat SH 34 & East Main, the second one is located at SH 34 & E. Quinlan Pkwy. Both projects totaling $37,391.

Enhancements of both signage

locations were provided by the

TXDOT Green Ribbon Project.

Quinlan Community Park

Quinlan Community Park

The new park is a point of pride in Quinlan.

Through a cooperative effort between QISD, the City of Quinlan, and the QEDC, a Community Park was built.

 

The park is located between Cannon Elementary at 315 highway 34 S. and Butler Intermediate School at 410 Clardy Drive. The park is host for community events though out the year and is enjoyed by the citizens of Quinlan and the surrounding areas. 

The QEDC has contributed a total of $500,000 dollars for Phase 1 & Phase 2 of the park. Phase 3 is currently in the 
planning process.  Link

Main Street Improvements

2017 - 2018 The QEDC fully-funded the first block of sidewalk construction; 2019 - 2020 the second block of construction was funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) with a Downtown Revitalization Grant and matched by the QEDC.

Total project to date total $475,000 dollars

The Hunt County Transportation Bond Program has identified funding to improve pedestrian access on Main Street from Kuykendall to the intersection of SH 34. The project would implement curbs and sidewalks as well as provide American Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations in Downtown Quinlan. Key benefits to these improvements include the following: 

  • Improve pedestrian safety and access for patrons and downtown merchants, and 

  • Encourage additional investment in Downtown Quinlan and set up for future lighting, streetscape, and landscaping improvements. 

Quinlan Watertower

Water and Sewer Improvements

Throughout the years, the QEDC has helped to fund the
City of Quinlan with new and existing expansion of water and sewer services to businesses and homes totaling more than $2,089,849 million dollars. 

Water and sewer extensions, expansions, and development are ongoing. 

Some projects include elevated tanks, water system controls, ground storage, mains lines, fire hydrants, extending sewer lines, and lift stations.

Facade Program

The goal of the program is to provide funding assistance to improve building facades in Quinlan. Grants are available up to a  50/50 match with a maximum grant amount of $10,000 dollars. 

 

The QEDC has awarded $91,620 in grants to date to businesses in Quinlan. Click the link for more information.

Quinlan Fire Department

The Quinlan Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department. The QEDC assisted the Quinlan Fire Department with the purchase of a new a Pumper Truck in 2002 for $10,000.

Comprehensive Plan

The QEDC with the City of Quinlan have developed a Comprehensive Plan for the future development of Quinlan. 

A city's comprehensive plan can be defined as a long-range planning tool that is intended to be used by City Staff, decision-makers, and citizens to guide the growth and physical development of a community for 10 to 20 years. The plan is due to be finalized by the end of July 2020. The QEDC is funding 50% of the plan for $75,000. Link
